When you upload a photo, we strip its embedded location and camera metadata from the version shown publicly. Where a photo contains GPS coordinates, we may keep those coordinates privately so we can place photos along trail routes in future features — we never publish a photo’s exact location. You can ask us to delete this data at any time (see Your Rights).

We use the information we collect to:

  • Improve the site’s features and trail listings
  • Display your submitted reviews to other users
